Ann Curry

Ann Curry, an American journalist and photojournalist who has covered wars and natural disasters over the past 45 years, is focused on the hardships of the people who live in these places. Curry reported on wars from Kosovo, Iraq Syria Lebanon Palestine Afghanistan Darfur Congo. Ann Curry (born on November 19, 1956 in the city of Agana) was an American anchor, reporter on television as well as a journalist. Most famously, she was as a correspondent on the Today Show, which was a morning news program broadcast by National Broadcasting Co. Curry is well-known for her reporting of catastrophes caused by natural or human causes, especially in countries that have been devastated by conflict. Curry was born in Japan and born to an Japanese mom. Her father was a U.S. Navy sailor. The couple met when her father was in Japan in the aftermath of World War II. Her father was in the military and her family moved a lot. They ultimately moved to Ashland Oregon where Curry attended high school. Curry graduated from high school in 1978 and earned the degree of Bachelor's in Journalism of the University of Oregon. She is likely to have developed an empathetic communication style because of her experiences with different cultures throughout her life. Curry was not able to be a student for over a period of more than two years, as her family was constantly moving. She attended schools in California, the state of Oregon in San Diego, and Virginia. Finally, she graduated Ashland High School. In Medford, she started her career in broadcasting when she was an KTVL Channel 10 intern. At the age 22, she was the station's only female reporter. She subsequently moved to the role of anchor and reporter at KGW which was an NBC station in Portland, Oregan. The following year, she relocated back to Los Angeles as a reporter for the KCBS-TV. The time she worked with this channel for 6 years that she was awarded two Emmy Awards.
